Oh come on now, I expect more than that from jM. A culture that is raised in baptisms verses a culture that knows absolutley nothing about baptism is not one we can just wish away. It would take work and some great preaching.
Perhaps you're the man?
:-)
It would be a delight to see though.

“howard: I understand your concern, but we both know God’s grace can overcome any of those problems.”

Oh come on now, I expect more than that from jM. I thought I would leave a thank you over here at your post just in case you didn't check back in at Pastor Cole's post. Thanks for the tip on Dr. Stein. That is what I was looking for.
You write a good post. It sure is refreshing to read something positive for a change. After all, 1 Cor. 2:2 is what it is all about, isn't it? Thanks, again.
In Christ,

Man, I see this all the time at Heaven's Gates and Hell's flames "dramas". Oh, you meant the *real* gospel, the one is the Bible...nevermind.

Mark,

Man, I see this all the time at Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s flames “dramas”. I have often wondered that myself. Wouldn't it be interesting to see a church full of people or even a person desire that. But what would be the correlation?
Jesus was coming after John the Baptist and the both of them had been practicing baptism. Therefore baptism would have been very well understood.
To desire that today in a world that has no idea what the meaning of baptism would be in a Biblical sense I think would be to expect too much. Just today I was listening to a preacher lament that the methods of evangelism often call people to a Jesus they know nothing about. I would fear the same for the meaning of baptism.
Just a counter thought.
