I’m glad you like the review. Depending on what is meant by “religion saves” might lead someone to chose a different title. It’s certainly a catchy title. It’s just hard, I think, to put those varied topics into one book and come up with a unifying title. Maybe Sermons On Religion: Correcting Nine Misconceptions with the Gospel (or Bible).

I agree that these topics do need to be addressed head on as Driscoll did. There is a way to be exegetically driven AND reaching the average “religious” person i.e. Tim Keller does a great job of this.

After reading your review on the book “Religion Saves: And Nine Other Misconceptions” it almost sounds like another title might have suited it better. But, then again, I have not read this book. In all honesty I have just recently heard of Mark Driscoll.

From what a gathered in your review several of the questions addressed might have been pulled out to form a book that better addresses the title. I am thinking specifically about #2, #4, #6.

I give props to anyone who is willing to answer questions in this style. We so need to address the major misconceptions that are causing so much confusion, strife, and division both in and out of the church today.

One of the most postive points that you made was at the end of your review. This book is for some people & not for others. If it has the ability to reach a certain group with TRUTH, that perhaps will not read a “more exegetically inclined work” then there are people in my sphere of influence who might greatly benefit from reading it.

So many misconceptions…glad to see someone is willing to tackle some of them!
