I guess I just had to reply due to a most glaring double standard. Kelly Powers runs a website linked in the title above called Apologetics For Christians Ministry. This all started when all of us #pros geeks were in channel chatting and such, as ususal, when someone named “John” came in and dropped a link to Kelly Powers’ website. I had heard the name before somewhere on Paltalk, but had no idea he had a website and was responding to Calvinism or James White at all. I left Paltalk long ago. I admit I used to frequent Paltalk, but now I just sign-on for a minute or two once a month to look for friends.
Talk of a debate soon surfaced and Dr. White wanted to hold it on his show The Dividing Line and Kelly Powers wanted to hold it on Paltalk. Now the glaring double standard is, in my opinion, that since Dr. White won’t to go Paltalk to “debate” Kelly Powers, Dr. White is said to have been “puffing smoke,” to have “a bit of a power trip,” and called prideful. Since Mr. Powers won’t debate on The Dividing Line what accussations should be thrown at him? Actually, none. They just could not come to an agreement. No big deal. When Kelly Powers won’t appear on The Dividing Line it’s okay, but when Dr. White won’t appear on Paltalk there’s a problem? So Mr. Powers why the accusations against Dr. White?
If I recall correctly, Dr. White basically left Paltalk almost before the software finished downloading. :::insert sarcasm::: Seriously, as any regular in #pros can attest, Dr. White spent a very short time using Paltalk before he left it and uninstalled. I remember the night he gave it one last chance. LOL
A few other things I ask of Mr. Powers is to offer proof of Dr. White being rude and cutting people off. This is for my own curiousity. Fire away please Mr. Powers.
Recently, for example, a Roman Catholic e-pologist called into The Dividing Line and he had the most fair and civil conversation with Dr. White. There is nothing to fear on by going on The Dividing Line.
My favorite quote from Kelly Powers is when he said, “In the end James White was just puffing smoke and as usual finding ways around what was suggested to him.” I wonder what “as usual” refers to here? Does Mr. Powers have some sort of proof that Dr. White usually tries to find ways around what is suggested to him? Mr. Powers? As far as “puffing smoke,” is Mr. Powers thinking that Dr. White was somehow unwilling to debate just because a format could not be agreed upon? Come on Mr. Powers, Dr. White has participated in over 50 live debates and several radio exchanges which some call debates.
Mr. Powers?
Just puffing smoke,
Mark
