Lord’s Day 06/27 counted free

The verses below from the hymn Before the Throne of God Above were written in 1863 by Charitie L. Bancroft. Almost 150 years later these verses are an wonderful summation of what Jesus accomplished on the cross for all who would believe in Him. How can a sinner like me deserve an innocent Jesus to die for my sins so I may be forgiven? The beautiful part is that I don’t deserve such forgiveness, but it’s only by God’s grace that I have it. How does one reflect on the incomprehensible?

Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.
