How Miley Cyrus Could Really Shock the World!

Given that her name seems to pop-up just about everywhere these days – I was thinking about how Miley Cyrus could really shock the world.

It seems every other day Miley Cyrus is a top twitter trend. She is one of the top searched people on Google. One of her recent music videos broke a record for most views in 24 hours. Cyrus has seemingly shocked her way to attention with her recent actions. Many fans and onlookers tuned in and continue to do so with every new sexually suggestive Cyrus performance.

And everyone is shocked!

But why is everyone shocked? Cyrus offers nothing new except a new name and face – a variation on a theme. It’s the same ole, same ole from Madonna to Britney to Lady Gaga et al. There is nothing new under the sun; not even a sun burn.

Cyrus offers what a world without Jesus wants. She offers a full course meal of cotton candy made to look like nourishing food. It is a meal that never satisfies, but only momentarily gratifies. Partial proof of her offering is that tomorrow a new young starlet will rise and shock everyone with much of the same.

Not so shocking.

Yet, I know how Miley Cyrus could really shock the world. She could really pull out all the stops and unleash a real wrecking ball. This wrecking ball would probably ruin her current career as it stands. It would show how true her fans really are to her.

Cyrus’s fans are not necessarily fans of her, but of her ability to fulfill their own lust and materialism and the like. It is simply human nature – fallen human nature.

So, if Miley Cyrus really wants to shock the world she could start following Jesus – the God in Whom she claims to believe. She could come out publicly and apologize for her actions, repent, and profess belief in the gospel for the forgiveness of her sins giving her eternal life. She could tell the world how she now wants to follow Jesus practicing whatever is true, honorable, pure, lovely, commendable, and praise worthy. She can explain how she wants the fruit of the Holy Spirit evident in her life which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. She could tell the world and show by example that she wants to live for the glory and honor of Jesus Christ.

Now that would be shocking.
