Scholarship Voting Reset: I Need Your Help Please!

OK, folks. I recently asked for your vote for the $10,000 Blogging Scholarship which, if I won, I would use to pay for seminary.1 Some people were getting votes that were off the charts in comparison to the amount of monthly website visits they get.  A few of us on twitter noticed this trend of what seemed to be an unusually high number of votes for some of the contestants.

Well, things have just changed!

The scholarship administration just sent out emails to the contestants informing us that some changes have been made to the contest due to “ballot stuffing.”

Great news! So here is what’s up.

  • The contest has a new url.
  • All voting has been reset to zero.
  • Voting has been extended for one week, until noon pacific on November 30th.
  • A new script is being used making it harder for people to manipulate the system.
  • Everyone may place one vote per day. (This actually means you may vote every 24 hours after your first vote.)

I can really use your help!

Please click here to vote for me, Mark Lamprecht. If you want to really help please vote once a day. I’m trying to think of how I can give back to all of you faithful voters out there that graciously vote and promote me. I much appreciate you!

Surprised this wasn’t fixed sooner. This is not the first time they have seen votes highly manipulated.

Taking bets that the guy that skewed the results does it again. Oh look!

Good luck, Mark. Doing my part, one vote a day at a time.

One vote a day?

I voted on Nov. 19th and today all I can bring up are the results. I want to vote again!

Chris, thanks for the vote. There was admission of vote manipulation last year for this same contest. I’m glad they started over this year.

Robert, I hope those who stuffed ballots don’t try again or are at least unsuccessful if they try again. Thank you for your votes.

Carmen, I’ve gotten clarification on the daily voting. I should probably ad a p.s. to this post. As I understand it, we can vote once every 24 hours after casting a vote rather than once per every 24 hour day of the week. Thanks for your support!
