The Second Chance on dvd: watch it

Last night my family and I watched a movie I rented upon recommendation from a friend at church. He said it was a great movie so I made a special trip to Blockbuster and rented it. They actually had several copies and only two were in.

The movie is called The Second Chance starring Michael W. Smith and Jeff Obafemi Carr. Yes, that Michael W. Smith and regardless of what you think of his music, watch the movie.

What’s it about? Well, go to the website and read. You will find “Same faith. Same city. Different worlds.” Segregation Sunday in an underlying theme and it’s one of the saddest things we do to each other as Christians.

I think it’s a very good movie and there is much truth in its message. It’s amazing to see all this money going into these material things used to promote this huge church to further the gospel while people in the same city are starving. There are a few humbling scenes that make you think of how self-centered we can be with our resources, for example.

Just watch it!
